7 things you didn't know about {US}

The wonderful, talented, and spunky Tranae from over at Becoming Fabulous nominated us to be a Versatile Blogger.
It was our first little nomination - and I must say, we're both pretty excited!

The rules say - we tell all of you 7 things about ourselves.
Being that Kendel and I both write in the blog - you're going to get a two-fer
Fourteen things about the two girls that make up Two.Shades.Of.Lovely!

Jeni

1. I work full-time at the local courthouse. You know those women that sit next to the judge and type everything? That's me....kind of.

 2. My husband will tell you, I'm a complete bed hog, and that I sleep diagonally. I'm also notorious for for "burrito-ing" and stealing all of the covers.

3. I am a sucker for "trendy" books like the Hunger Games, Fifty Shades of Grey (my current obsession), and Twilight - but my all time favorite book is, and always will be Jane Eyre.

4. Sometimes, after a long stressful day, I "shoot people" with my husband on Call of Duty (and I'm good at it)

5. Nothing can calm my nerves from a bad day more than reading stories with Noah. Something about reading to him is so relaxing.

6. I love baking - but I'm not very good at it. I'm notorious for burning cookies, dropping cakes, and messing up the texture of frosting, but I still enjoy it.

7. I'm allergic to just about everything - and just recently got told I needed to cut dairy out of my diet. I LOVE cheese, but I feel so so so much better without it, so any dairy free recipes, send them my way!

Kendel

1. I don't eat chicken or chocolate - and there is not a day that goes by when I don't get made fun of for it!

2. I have 1 brother and 2 sisters. We are all very close - my sisters are my best friend.
3. I went to University of Portland for Cross Country Running on a scholarship.

4. I thought I wanted to be a wedding dress designer when I grew up, but I found my calling in college when I worked with the Portland Police Department for a year - and now I work in the criminal justice field.

5.  I learned to knit in the 4th grade - and have been doing it ever since.
6. My fiance Paul and I met in Las Vegas - he was on "vacation" from England, and I was on spring break from Oregon.
7. Once upon a time, I used to own and ride a street bike.

Now, it's our turn to nominate 10 of our newest blogging friends
All of these girls have been so inspirational in beginning our blogging journey, and most definitely deserve the versatile blogger award too. Be sure to visit their blogs, they are most definitely worth a read!

  2. Thank you both for nominating me! Love this post! I got to learn a little more about you both :o) I really give you credit for learning how to play Call of Duty. I watch my husband play and it just reminds me of how complicated game playing has gotten. Seriously, it makes my head spin with all of the options and button controls! It's very cool! Way different than when I used to play Nintendo or Atari. Geesh, I'm old ;o)

    1. Haha! It took me so long to play a game like that...It is crazy how far the video games have advanced....it's only a matter of time before I am behind the curve and won't be able to keep up with the new games! I cant wait to read your 7 things!

  3. Well, thanks for the nomination!

Jane Eyre is also my all-time favorite book. I recommend it to everyone all the time, which I'm sure gets old, but if people would just read it then I wouldn't have to keep telling them about it.

    1. You're awesome - I read it! I couldn't agree more with the camping thing - I love it, but bugs are one of my worst fears!

  8. Jeni - Jane Eyre is my favorite book, too! And also, my husband and I figured out a while ago that destroying eachother in Halo was pretty much like free marriage therapy. As long as we weren't in the same room while playing. I may have kinda kicked him once.

Are you girls both from Portland? We're about to make a move from Newberg to Forest Grove. An area I don't know AT ALL.

  9. I love that it's your favorite book! Always nice to find fellow Jane Eyre-ers! I have played Halo a couple of times, I'm definitely NOT good at that game!

We are actually from Grants Pass - a tiny town in Southern Oregon. I have friends in Forest Grove, they seem to like it there =)
